Job Description
A Personal Assistant is required to support a man in his own home. This will entail general domestic duties, providing company and any help that might be required to enable him to maintain his independence as much as possible.
Car owner/driver essential with a clean licence.
Reliable, flexible working and ability to work unsupervised.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Cleaning, laundry and doing a weekly shop.
- Preparing simple meals to eat or for the freezer.
- Ensuring there is sufficient suitable food in the house.
- Accompanying to any appointments.
- Liaising with other people as necessary.
- Keeping a simple petty cash account and other records as necessary.
- Providing company.
Specific Requirements
- Car owner/driver essential with clean licence.
- DBS Check essential.
Required Training
No specific qualification is necessary but experience of running a house and supporting adults with physical disabilities would be desirable. Currently there are no personal care needs. Understanding of advocacy and basic infection control as well as understanding how living with a chronic illness can affect individuals would be also be useful.
