These children present behaviours profiles that can be challenging and they need additional support and care in their school life in a mainstream setting so they can flourish in an inclusive learning environment.

We are looking for graduates who have an interest to maybe become a teacher and would like some hands-on experience to understand the role and gain experience. You will become a mentor for these children, supporting and inspiring them each day. It’s a truly unique opportunity to change the lives of the children you work with and help guide them through some of the most challenging phases in their young lives. Ideally you will be a graduate as this opportunity offers significant experience for a graduate to build their portfolio for future training in education, teaching and psychology/psychotherapy fields.

This position will begin via Blue Skies Education as an agency worker but will present the opportunity for a permanent contract directly with the school if the temporary period is a success for you, the school and the students. If you are compassionate, confident, inspiring, a skilled communicator with a genuine interest to make a difference for children that will supersede a lack of direct experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and mentor children with SEND profiles in a mainstream school setting.
  • Contribute to an inclusive learning environment to help children flourish.
  • Engage with pupils who may have experienced trauma or adverse childhood experiences and/or be neuro-divergent.

Requirements / Qualifications:

  • A degree.
  • A valid DBS or willingness to apply for one (Β£63).
  • Proof of right to work.
  • References.
  • UK residency.

Contract, Location & Benefits:

  • Hours: 32-35 hours per week, day shifts Mon to Fri.
  • Start Date: ASAP.
  • End Date: Indefinite, could become permanent.
  • Location: Enfield.
  • Pay: Β£14-Β£16 per hour (PAYE).

In return we offer a huge opportunity of a permanent contract, significant experience to build your CV/portfolio and a highly rewarding job in education. We look forward to receiving your application.

Please be advised that this teaching assistant/learning support role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that the successful applicant must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service. The job vacancy may be closed earlier than the closing date if we secure a suitable candidate, so please apply ASAP to avoid any potential disappointment.
