Trainee IT Service Desk and IT Support Technician professionals play a vital role in supporting the smooth running of organisational technology. They help diagnose and resolve technical issues, maintain user productivity, and ensure systems remain secure and reliable.

Our Skills Bootcamp programme is providing trainees with strong foundational Microsoft IT support skills by training them in AB900 and AZ 900, covering Microsoft 365, Co-Pilot and Azure technology environments. This programme is fully funded for Devon residents only (*eligibility funding criteria apply), leading to a job interview with employers upon completion, alongside receiving six months of employability mentoring to prepare you for starting your IT role.

We are working with multiple businesses in Devon, who are looking to recruit individuals seeking to advance their IT Career through Microsoft certification. As these businesses expand their operations, they are seeking passionate and dedicated individuals eager to pursue IT Support Technicians and IT Service Desk roles.

Job Description: Please be advised that advancing to the job interview stage requires the successful completion of a 12-week programme, delivered remotely by BIT Training. This programme will equip you with the essential experience and skills needed to begin the role.

  • CertNexus CyberSAFE Certificate
  • Microsoft AB-900 (Introduction to Microsoft 365 and AI administration)
  • Microsoft AZ900 (Microsoft Azure Fundamentals)

In addition to the technical expertise provided, candidates will also develop essential interpersonal skills, including career planning, CV development, interview preparation, presentation techniques, and social media branding. These competencies are designed to enhance their confidence and ensure they are fully equipped for a seamless transition into the IT workplace.

Knowledge and Skills Learnt on the Skills Bootcamp Programme:

Trainees will explore Microsoft 365 administration, beginning with security foundations, core services, administrative controls, and the protection and governance of organisational data. Training then progresses into Microsoft 365 Copilot and agent administration, where learners gain hands-on experience performing basic administrative tasks for both Microsoft 365 Copilot and its associated agents.

In addition, you'll gain insight into Azure cloud services, including key concepts like computing, networking, storage, and security, and learn how organisations use cloud platforms to drive business innovation. You'll also explore best practices for digital security, data protection, and responsible cloud adoption, giving you confidence to support or lead digital transformation in your role.

Eligibility:

This programme is available on a fully funded basis to applicants who meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Adults aged 19 and above resident in Devon
  • Proof of residence, in Devon, UK
  • Right to Work in the UK
  • Currently unemployed, underemployed or self-employed and seeking work as an IT Service Desk or IT Technician
  • Able to commit to three two-hour weekly instructor-led training sessions from 27th April to 16th July 2026
  • Willing to actively pursue employment or self-employment opportunities after completing the training to demonstrate career progression
  • Own IT equipment able to access online classes and learning resources
