Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and support care workers, care assistants, and home carers on duty
- Take responsibility for the shift and ensure the service runs safely and smoothly
- Respond to emergencies and give guidance and support to staff
- Help service users with personal care such as:
- Dressing and undressing
- Washing, bathing, and using the toilet
- Serve meals and assist with feeding where needed
- Writing letters
- Paying bills
- Collecting benefits
- Temperature
- Pulse
- Breathing
- Weight
Person Specification
- NVQ Level 3 (or working towards it) in Health and Social Care
- Experience working in a care setting
- Ability to supervise and support other staff
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Caring, patient, and respectful attitude
- Willingness to provide personal care
- Ability to respond calmly in emergencies
- Basic record-keeping skills
- Previous experience as a Senior Care Worker
- Additional training in care (e.g. dementia care, medication handling)
