Job Summary

The Commercial Lines Account Manager is responsible for assisting the Client Relationship Manager (CRM) with maintaining client policies through carrier communication, data processing, and collaboration with other internal departments.

The Account Manager performs the essential functions of the position noted below, while meeting the quality and service standards developed by the agency.

Essential Functions

  • Assists the Client Relationship Manager with policy management including agency management system audits and marketing of accounts.
  • Communicates with carriers on renewals, endorsement requests, and any additional policy updates.
  • Provides clients support by responding to payment inquiries, addressing policy concerns and finalizing policy documents.
  • Develops reports including detailed statement of values and sets up certificate of insurance templates in the agency management system.
  • Sets priorities and manages workflow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing of transactions and other responsibilities.
  • Keeps informed regarding industry information, new product information, legislation, coverages and technology to continuously improve knowledge and performance.
  • Interacts with others effectively by utilizing good communication skills, cooperating purposefully and providing information and guidance, as needed, to achieve the business goals of the agency.
  • Actively seek ways to improve client service and communicate ideas for improved client service to superior positions.
  • Comply with departmental reporting requirements.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to communicate orally and in writing with others, to explain insurance issues, to receive and interpret complex information, and respond appropriately.
  • Knowledge of insurance products, markets, and underwriting procedures.
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and multi-task.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Property & Casualty License required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years large commercial account experience required.

Physical Requirements

  • This position frequently communicates with clients who have inquiries about their policy, invoicing, and claims.

Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.

  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.

This includes repeating motions that involve the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

  • Position may require the employee to ascend and/or descend ladders, stairs, ramps, and the like.
  • High stress, fast-paced environment with a high volume of work to be completed daily.
  • Limited physical effort required or exposure to physical risk. However, must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
