Blue Recruitment Personnel is currently recruiting for Class 2 HIAB Drivers to work for a well-established company in Abingdon. In this role, you will be working most of the time alone with efficiency and commitment to complete your work and strive to maintain the business performance targets.

The role involves driving Class 2 Vehicles operating a vehicle-mounted crane (Brick / Grab Attachment) to complete the customer deliveries to various sites, private addresses and new developments.

Duties:

  • Following health and safety guidelines
  • Daily vehicle safety checks
  • Compliance with legislation - drivers hours, highway regulations
  • Checking vehicle loads are secure
  • Delivering builders' materials and other products to the local areas
  • Provide customers with the highest level of service
  • Reporting of any defects of the vehicle immediately to the management team
  • Liaising with the trade sales team/transport supervisor with regard to shortages or customer queries

Requirements:

  • Full UK driving licence (Category C) with no more than 6 points
  • Up-to-date CPC & Digital Tachograph Card
  • A crane (HIAB) Certificate is required - Essential (Brick / Grab Attachment)
  • You must be able to operate the lorry-mounted crane on delivery/collection
  • Previous experience completing deliveries
  • Excellent organisational skills (the ability to organise your time and workload)
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail
  • Reliability and flexibility
  • Self-motivated
  • No major traffic offences - No DR, DD or NI codes accepted
  • Your HIAB Certificate must be accredited by one of the below bodies:
  • ALMI - Association of Lorry Loaders, Manufacturers and Importers
  • RTITB - Road Transport Industry Training Board
  • ITSSAR - Independent Training Standards Scheme and Register
  • AITT - Association of Industrial Truck Trainers
  • NPORS - National Plant Operators Registration Scheme
  • CPCS - Construction Plant Competence Scheme

Working Hours:

  • Monday – Friday
  • Start times are from 07:30 AM
  • 8-10 hours shift guaranteed

PPE Required:

  • Hard Hat with a chin strap
  • Safety Boots
  • Hi-Vis Vest
