Turning waste into resources is our mission. We are seeking a dedicated Environmental and Compliance Manager for our UK metals refinery business in Dudley. You will ensure we remain one step ahead of the competition by managing key legislative requirements, planning, and permitting, ensuring our reputation grows alongside our business as we continue to close the loop on secondary resources.
The Environmental and Compliance Manager will oversee compliance with environmental legislation and manage key responsibilities to support the business's growth and reputation.
Responsibilities- Compliance & Legislation: Lead all aspects of environmental legislation and compliance to ensure the business meets all legal obligations.
- Permitting & Notifications: Manage and oversee planning, environmental permitting, water discharge consents, and waste shipment notifications.
- Strategic Growth: Proactively manage compliance requirements to support business expansion and maintain a competitive edge.
- Management Reporting: Act as a core member of the local management team at the Dudley Operations, reporting directly to the Director Metals UK.
- System Maintenance: Ensure adherence to integrated management standards and regulatory frameworks.
- Industry Expertise: A strong understanding of Environmental Permitting Regulations and experience within the waste or resource recovery sector.
- Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with ISO Management Systems, specifically ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.
- Regulatory Precision: Experience handling complex documentation such as water discharge and waste shipment notifications.
- Communication Skills: Ability to work effectively as part of a local management team and engage with stakeholders.
- Proactive Mindset: A forward-thinking approach to compliance that anticipates regulatory changes and business needs.
Salary range will be £45-50k dependent on experience + benefits package.
