Blue Phoenix Group is the market leader in the processing of incinerator bottom ash. Improving the circularity of resources is at the core of the Group’s business strategy. We process IBA from EFW’s to produce aggregates in urban located sites, preventing significant GHG emissions from resource extraction, production and transport. By processing the bottom ash with the most modern techniques, we are able to offer new life to both the metals and minerals for use in various economic sectors. We are a young dynamic organization, active on 4 continents. Blue Phoenix UK is a subsidiary of Blue Phoenix Group, we are the leading producer of Incinerator Bottom Ash Aggregate (IBAA) in the UK, providing the Construction and Civil Engineering sectors with a sustainable alternative to primary aggregates. We have a number of long‑term service contracts with major blue‐chip organisations and we have great growth potential with operational sites.
Role
As Commercial Director, you will influence our P&L and business strategy. In support of our continuing growth plans you will be responsible for marketing over tonnes of product per annum with a sales team. As part of the senior UK team, in a business of people, the role will demand the highest level of leadership. The successful candidate must be determined, tenacious and not just willing to face challenges, but to take ownership of them as well. They will be very focused on results and achieving objectives; this will be done in a highly organised and structured way, paying great attention to detail and due process. You will be responsible for managing the sales team, and the marketing of IBAA products from our production operations across the UK, achieving KPI objectives agreed by Group in accordance with budget revenue, volume and price targets. You will build customer relationships and the continued development with existing customers, understanding the market and technical specification requirements and continually seeking out new sales opportunities. As one of the senior management team, you will be required to report monthly trends and performance.
Person
You should have previous successful background at a senior commercial level in managing sales and account management experience in the construction products sector. Knowledge in the recycled aggregates market within the UK would be preferable as you will need to be able to understand specifications. You should have a natural talent for dealing with people, particularly at building and maintaining relationships and be a pro‑active Manager adding new skills to the team through leadership and training. This role will require very high levels of literacy, numeracy and logic. The post holder will need to be highly articulate, confident and able to express themselves in a credible and proficient manner with gravitas at all levels of the workplace spectrum. A broad understanding of current UK & European standards as well as working closely with our Environmental and Production Teams.
