Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts including property management agreements, audit/tax engagements, referral agreements, consulting engagements, and related statements of work.
- Manage a high volume of non‑disclosure agreements and other commercial contracts in coordination with external counsel.
- Manage property‑level litigation tendered to tenants in coordination with external counsel.
- Act as liaison between Blue Owl Real Estate teams and external legal counsel.
- Develop strong working relationships and partnerships with other teams to support client needs.
- Ensure that all Legal team records are stored in secure, organized file systems to support shared knowledge and compliant record‑keeping.
- Perform special projects and other responsibilities for the Legal team.
- Coordinate signatures for documents and various materials.
- Lead and execute real estate transactions, including cross‑border deals and international property acquisitions.
- Provide strategic legal guidance on complex international real estate matters.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders to ensure compliance with international regulations and transaction requirements.
- Lead negotiation of key commercial legal matters with transaction counterparties on deals.
- Work with investment team to manage European new market entry for jurisdictions not previously transacted in, understanding legal frameworks and investment structures for various European jurisdictions.
Qualifications:
- 7‑8+ years of experience at a major law firm or in‑house legal department working on real estate transactions and real estate management issues.
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Demonstrated drive for results and ability to prioritize risks and projects to focus on what’s important in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Excellent planning and organization skills; meticulous attention to detail is a must.
- Strong working knowledge of Office Suite, with emphasis on Excel.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to roll up sleeves to get things done.
- Team player with enthusiasm and intellectual curiosity to learn more.
