Are you an experienced Payroll Administrator looking for an opportunity to join a well-established chartered accountancy practice? Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organised payroll professional to manage payroll services, with a strong emphasis on processing payroll for a local authority-run care program.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-end payroll processing with a primary focus on care sector payrolls under a local authority scheme.
- Ensuring payroll compliance with HMRC regulations, NEST pension schemes, and statutory requirements.
- Managing payroll queries and providing excellent customer service to both clients and employees.
- Processing statutory payments including SSP, SMP, SPP, and holiday pay calculations.
- Liaising with local authorities regarding funding, pay rates, and legislative updates.
- Producing payroll reports, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate records.
- Assisting with year-end payroll procedures, including P60s, P11Ds, and RTI submissions.
- Keeping up to date with payroll legislation and industry best practices.
About You:
- Previous experience in payroll processing within a chartered accountancy or payroll bureau setting.
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and pension auto-enrolment.
- Experience working with local authority-funded payrolls or care sector payrolls is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in payroll software ideally Sage Payroll.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and a client-focused approach.
