The Surveying Lead will manage and guide a team of Surveyors to deliver an exceptional housing maintenance service. You will ensure that resources are effectively deployed, maintenance works are specified and monitored to a high standard, and projects are delivered efficiently and safely. Acting as a technical expert, you will provide solutions to complex maintenance issues, liaise with internal and external stakeholders, and advocate for high-quality services that enhance the resident experience while ensuring value for money.
Key Outputs:
- Lead, manage, and develop the Surveying team through coaching, performance reviews, and access to training, ensuring high service standards.
- Oversee and ensure the timely and effective delivery of reactive repairs, void works, refurbishments, adaptations, and modernisation projects.
- Prepare surveys, schedules, specifications, and technical reports, including costings and appraisals, to support maintenance works.
- Manage relationships with contractors and specialist surveying services, monitoring quality, compliance, and performance.
- Support budget management, cost controls, and adherence to financial procedures for maintenance services.
- Promote collaboration across Property Services, stakeholders, and residents to improve customer satisfaction and enhance the resident experience.

Essential Skills & Experience:
- Experience in leading and managing surveyors or technical teams in a housing, property, or construction environment.
- Strong knowledge of building maintenance, repairs, refurbishment, and adaptations, including compliance and health & safety requirements.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and problem-solving skills to negotiate, influence, and deliver outcomes.
- Financial awareness and experience in managing budgets, cost controls, and contract compliance.
