Our client is seeking a Change Portfolio Delivery Manager to join their team and lead the portfolio delivery teamwithin the Business Improvement function. You will be responsible for overseeing the management and delivery of a portfolio of programmes and projects that drive strategic transformation and operational improvements.
You will take the lead on strategic sequencing, prioritisation and execution of change initiatives, ensuring optimal resource utilisation and minimal disruption to business operations. You will provide line management to Project Managers and from time-to-time, you will handle the complexities of large-scale programmes within the portfolio, ensuring they are delivered to time, scope and budget.
Key Areas of Work:
- Lead the strategic sequencing and prioritisation of the change portfolio, including complex programmes, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of both projects and programmes.
- Support project managers in delivering high-quality outputs, providing guidance, monitoring risks and issues, and ensuring adherence to governance standards.
- Lead the development and execution of change management strategies to support the smooth transition of the organisation through change.
- Ensure compliance with the organisation’s governance frameworks, methodologies and standards throughout all stages of programme and project delivery.
Who are they looking for?
- Educated to degree level or can evidence equivalent experience in a change / business improvement / project management related role.
- Hold a programme management or project management qualification (desirable).
- Portfolio and programme management – experienced in portfolio management, in particular balancing complexities of managing both individual projects multi-workstream programmes in addition to having a strong understanding of resource management.
- Project management methodologies – have excellent knowledge of this to ensure best practice across the delivery team and the ability to implement and manage standard project controls.
- Risk and issue management – experienced in proactively identifying, monitoring and resolving risks and issues within a portfolio in addition to managing RAID logs.
- Change management – experienced in leading change management efforts for complex programmes and skilled in assessing change impact and implementing strategies to manage resistance.
Proactive and a problem-solver with strong leadership skills, you will be able to foster a high-performance culture within the portfolio delivery team and will drive continuous improvement. With excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders across the organisation, you will have a strategic mindset, ensuring that resources are allocated to the most impactful initiatives. To succeed in this role, you must thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment, able to maintain focus on delivering value to the organisation to ensure that programmes and projects achieve their intended benefit.
