Various Hours Available
The current Counselling programmes at Kingston College sit within the Wellbeing Section as part of the Commercial Industries and Access School. This includes a BA (Hons) Integrative Relational Counselling degree, a Mental Health degree and study programme, as well as part-time adult courses at Levels 2 and 3, and a Level 4 Diploma. Our introductory courses are currently accredited by NCFE (Level 3) and CPCAB (Level 2). The Counselling degree programme holds prestigious BACP accreditation and is validated by Middlesex University.
We’re now seeking a Sessional Lecturer in Counselling to teach on the Level 4 adult part‑time daytime courses (Tuesdays and/or Thursdays), with the potential to contribute to other Counselling programmes.
Key Responsibilities- Teach Level 4 adult part‑time daytime courses (Tuesdays and/or Thursdays).
- Assess written work and practical skills for Level 3 or above students.
- Maintain professional boundaries while providing effective support, challenge, and motivation to students.
- Plan, prepare and manage administrative responsibilities to meet deadlines.
- Professional qualification in Integrative Relational Counselling or Psychotherapy (minimum Level 6 Diploma or Honours degree).
- A registered member of BACP, UKCP or an equivalent UK professional body with at least three years’ post‑qualification experience and accreditation (or willingness to work towards this).
- Recent experience of teaching Counselling at Level 3 or above.
- Teaching qualification is essential.
- Either a supervision qualification or experience of providing supervision to individuals or groups within a counselling or life coaching context.
- Ability to communicate knowledge clearly, demonstrating creativity, resourcefulness and effective educational skills.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to plan, prepare and manage administrative responsibilities effectively.
