Lecturer – Barbering (Part Time 0.5 CT)

Permanent, part‑time (0.5 clinical time) role at the Commercial Industries and Access School, Kingston College.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Barbering courses across various levels and act as personal tutor for the curriculum area.
  • Design engaging coursework assignments that inspire learners, following agreed schemes of work and assessment schedules.
  • Monitor student progress, support, motivate and empathise with young learners.
  • Take part in internal verification activities and organise and participate in external verification.
  • Plan, prepare, organise and administer courses, maintaining high personal standards and meeting agreed deadlines.
  • Work individually and as part of a team to achieve targets, contributing to a creative and flexible learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Level 3 qualification in Barbering, including face shaving and massage services, with recent industry experience.
  • Teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
  • Excellent teaching skills in Barbering and strong ability to support, motivate and empatise with learners.
