We are looking for a commercially minded and detail-driven Finance Manager to join our clients fast-paced wholesale market operation. This is a hands-on role at the heart of the business, combining day-to-day financial control with stock oversight, sales analysis, and operational support.

Working in a dynamic market environment, you'll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial and stock records, supporting sales performance analysis, and ensuring the business has clear, reliable information to make decisions.

This role would suit someone who is AAT qualified or qualified by experience, ideally with a background in wholesale distribution, cash & carry, or another stock-intensive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own and manage the sales ledger function, ensuring accuracy and timely reconciliation
  • Analyse daily and weekly sales reports, identifying trends and investigating discrepancies
  • Review the impact of discounts, promotions, and pricing activity on sales and margin performance
  • Reconcile sales, stock movement, and invoicing records to ensure accuracy across the business
  • Monitor stock variances and challenge discrepancies, including requesting recounts where required
  • Support stock counts, audits, and reconciliation processes
  • Produce accurate financial and operational reporting for management
  • Maintain and improve systems, controls, and reporting processes
  • Liaise closely with sales, warehouse, and accounts teams to ensure smooth information flow
  • Support wider finance and operational activities as required
About You
  • Previous experience within wholesale, distribution, cash & carry, or another stock-led environment is highly desirable
  • AAT qualified or qualified by experience
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident interrogating reports, challenging figures, and investigating anomalies
  • Comfortable working closely with stock and operational teams in a hands-on environment
  • Strong systems skills, including Excel and finance/stock management systems
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Practical, organised, and commercially aware
  • Good communication skills with the confidence to challenge where necessary
