Part-Time Accounts Assistant
Location: Birmingham B6
Hours: Part-Time 7-12 Monday to Friday
Salary: £28k - £30k Pro Rata
We're looking for an organised and proactive Accounts Assistant to join a very fast paced retail operation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, thrives under pressure and takes pride in keeping the finance function running smoothly.
The Role
You'll play a key role ensuring suppliers are paid accurately, customer accounts are maintained and financial records are kept up to date. Key responsibilities include:
- Processing purchase invoices and supplier payments
- Raising sales invoices and managing customer accounts
- Allocating cash and reconciling receipts
- Scanning and processing goods in notes
- Reconciling supplier statements
- Assisting with credit control where required
- Investigating and resolving invoice and payment queries
- Maintaining accurate financial records and filing
- Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc administrative duties
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in an Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable or Accounts Assistant role
- Is highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Can manage a busy workload and prioritise effectively
- Is confident using accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Has strong communication skills and enjoys working as part of a team
- Is reliable, accurate and able to work independently
