WordPress Developer Intern in London

We are looking for a WordPress Developer Intern to help build and maintain the secure digital hubs and reporting tools we use to present key analyses to our clients. In this role, you will support our project team as we deliver crucial data findings to a major British financial services company, ensuring our insights are accessible through clean, functional, and highly reliable web interfaces.

The Role: Our work relies on presenting complex analytical conclusions in a way that key client stakeholders can easily review and act upon. In this hybrid role, you will divide your week between working from home and collaborating directly with our team in our shared workspace, ensuring a tight feedback loop for design tweaks and technical requirements. Your primary focus will be writing clean and well-structured code to configure secure project portals. What You Will Be Doing:

• Setting up, customizing, and managing secure WordPress sites for our advisory engagements.
• Developing custom templates and responsive pages to present data, analytical tables, and executive reports clearly.
• Implementing security configurations, user access controls, and data protection settings to handle sensitive client information securely.
• Optimizing portal loading speeds, performance metrics, and mobile responsiveness.
• Troubleshooting technical page bugs, layout issues, and broken links under active deadlines.
• Collaborating with our consulting analysts to translate analytical figures into structured, user-friendly web layouts.

What You Bring:

• A reliable understanding of WordPress development, child themes, PHP, HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript.
• Familiarity with web security practices, particularly in managing restricted user privileges and securing page directories.
• An orderly approach to design and a clear sense of how to structure complex information logically.
• The self-discipline needed to manage your time across hybrid home-office and shared-office days.
• Strong attention to detail, checking your work across different browsers and layouts before sharing it for review.
• No corporate experience is required. We are looking for personal projects, academic websites, or simple client portfolios that demonstrate you can build stable, functional web structures.
