Blue Note, one of the world's most celebrated live music venues, is opening its first London home in Covent Garden.

We're looking for reliable, hardworking and proactive individuals to join our Overnight Cleaning & Facilities Team.

This is a critical role within the operation, ensuring our venue is restored to impeccable condition after every performance and ready to welcome guests the following day.

Working overnight, you'll be responsible for far more than cleaning—you'll play an integral role in maintaining the presentation, functionality and overall condition of one of London's premier hospitality venues.

About the Role

As a Porter / Overnight Cleaning Crew Member, you will be responsible for deep cleaning the venue, carrying out venue resets and assisting with minor maintenance tasks to ensure every guest arrives to an immaculate environment.

This role requires someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys working independently and has excellent attention to detail.

Alongside maintaining exceptional cleanliness standards, you'll assist with painting touch-ups, minor repairs, furniture movement and general facilities support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deep clean all guest-facing and back-of-house areas following each service.
  • Clean restaurant floors, bars, kitchens, stairwells, corridors, washrooms and staff facilities to an exceptional standard.
  • Vacuum, mop, polish and sanitise all public areas throughout the venue.
  • Carry out detailed cleaning of furniture, fixtures, lighting, artwork and decorative finishes.
  • Complete scheduled deep-cleaning tasks in accordance with the venue's maintenance programme.
  • Reset furniture layouts following performances, private events and venue hire.
  • Move tables, chairs and equipment safely when required.
  • Assist with painting touch-ups, wall repairs and minor cosmetic maintenance.
  • Carry out basic maintenance tasks including replacing light bulbs, tightening fixtures and minor repairs where appropriate.
  • Report larger maintenance issues to management promptly and accurately.
  • Ensure all cleaning equipment is maintained, stored correctly and kept in excellent working condition.
  • Safely use cleaning chemicals in accordance with COSHH regulations.
  • Remove waste, recycling and glass from all areas of the venue.
  • Maintain external areas, entrances and loading bays where required.
  • Assist with deliveries, stock movement and furniture assembly when needed.
  • Support contractors carrying out overnight maintenance works.
  • Ensure all venue spaces are presented to opening standard before leaving each shift.
  • Follow all health & safety policies and safe working procedures.
  • Maintain strict security procedures when working overnight.
  • Carry out additional operational duties as reasonably requested by management.

You'll have

  • Previous experience in commercial cleaning, hospitality facilities, maintenance or similar environments is preferred.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
  • Good practical skills and confidence undertaking minor maintenance tasks.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • A positive, can-do attitude.
  • High standards of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to undertake manual handling duties safely.
  • Flexibility to work overnight, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
  • The legal right to work in the UK.

  • Salary: £17.00-20.00 per hour depending on experience
  • (This position is not eligible for tronc.)
