Blue Note, one of the world's most celebrated live music venues, is opening its first London home in Covent Garden.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the opening team and play a vital role in delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Working alongside our Servers, Bartenders, Kitchen and Management teams, you'll help ensure every service runs efficiently while maintaining the high standards expected of an internationally recognised hospitality brand.

About the Role

As a Food Runner & Busser, you will be an essential part of our front-of-house operation, ensuring food is delivered promptly, tables are maintained impeccably and guests enjoy a seamless dining experience throughout every performance.

This is a fast-paced, hands-on role requiring energy, attention to detail and a genuine passion for hospitality.

You'll act as the link between the kitchen and dining room, supporting the service team to ensure every dish reaches guests exactly as intended and every table remains clean, organised and ready for service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver food promptly, accurately and professionally from the kitchen to guests, ensuring every dish meets presentation standards before leaving the pass.
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure orders are delivered efficiently and in the correct sequence.
  • Support Servers by clearing and resetting tables quickly while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ensure all tables are fully prepared for incoming guests with polished cutlery, glassware and table settings.
  • Monitor the dining room throughout service, proactively clearing plates, glassware and unnecessary items while remaining attentive to guests' needs.
  • Assist with serving water, bread and other supporting elements of the dining experience where required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation throughout all dining areas, service stations and guest-facing spaces.
  • Restock crockery, cutlery, napkins and service equipment throughout each shift.
  • Communicate effectively with Servers, Bartenders and Kitchen teams to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
  • Support efficient table turnover without compromising the guest experience.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties, including polishing glassware, preparing service stations and cleaning front-of-house areas.
  • Maintain an excellent understanding of table numbers, seating plans and service flow.
  • Follow all food safety, health & safety and hygiene procedures.
  • Handle all equipment carefully and report any breakages or maintenance issues promptly.
  • Support private events, VIP experiences and special performances as required.
  • Contribute positively to a collaborative team environment and assist colleagues whenever needed.

Skills & Experience

We're looking for enthusiastic individuals who enjoy working in a busy hospitality environment and take pride in delivering exceptional service.

You'll have

  • Previous experience as a Food Runner, Busser, Runner or Front of House Assistant is preferred, although full training can be provided for the right candidate.
  • A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • High standards of cleanliness, organisation and presentation.
  • A proactive approach with a willingness to assist wherever needed.
  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
  • The legal right to work in the UK.
