Position Summary
Blue Note London is seeking an experienced, hands‑on Head of Marketing to lead and execute the venue’s marketing efforts.
This is a broad, owner‑operator role combining strategic leadership with day‑to‑day delivery across digital, social, content, and campaign activity.
The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for live music, a thorough understanding of the London market, and the drive to both set the direction and get things done.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Marketing Planning
- Develop and deliver comprehensive marketing strategies tailored to the London market, promoting concerts, special events, and venue offerings.
- Align marketing initiatives with Blue Note’s overarching vision and objectives.
- Campaign Management
- Plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns across digital, social media, email, and traditional platforms.
- Optimise campaigns to maximise ticket sales, brand engagement, and return on investment.
- Social Media Strategy and Execution
- Manage and grow social media accounts across platforms including Instagram, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Tik Tok, and You Tube.
- Create, schedule, and publish engaging content, including graphics, videos, and live event updates.
- Monitor trends and audience engagement to optimise content and strategy.
- Brand Management
- Establish and maintain Blue Note London’s brand as a leading cultural and entertainment destination.
- Ensure consistent brand identity and messaging across all channels, working closely with designers and content creators.
- Content Creation and Distribution
- Lead the production of compelling multimedia content, including artist spotlights, promotional videos, and venue features.
- Manage the website and social media channels, ensuring they remain dynamic, engaging, and current.
- Event Promotion
- Coordinate with artists, agents, and publicists to amplify event promotion across digital and email channels.
- Execute targeted campaigns to maximise ticket sales and attendance.
- Cover events in real time to enhance audience engagement and capture the Blue Note experience.
- Community Engagement
- Build partnerships with local businesses, media outlets, cultural organisations, and influencers to enhance Blue Note’s visibility and influence across London.
- Identify and develop sponsorship and collaborative opportunities in keeping with Blue Note’s mission.
- Analytics and Reporting
- Track, analyse, and report on marketing performance metrics to senior leadership.
- Use data‑driven insights to refine strategies and drive continuous improvement.
- Cross-Team Collaboration
- Work closely with the box office, booking, and operations teams to ensure seamless promotion of events.
- Collaborate across departments to integrate marketing efforts with the wider venue strategy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field; postgraduate qualification preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in marketing, with demonstrable expertise across both strategy and hands‑on execution.
- Demonstrable success in marketing live music events or comparable entertainment experiences.
- Strong understanding of the London market, including its media landscape and audience profile.
- Expertise in digital marketing, social media platforms, analytics, and email marketing tools.
- Strong copywriting, content creation, and storytelling skills across multiple formats and platforms.
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to manage external relationships with agents, publicists, and partners.
- A creative eye and the drive to work independently in a lean team environment.
