Blue Mountain Homes is an established yet progressive company, operating Residential Children’s Homes and Independent Schools across the UK, looking after children and young people up to the age of 18.

We are looking for dynamic youth mentors who have a desire to engage, guide and bring a positive influence in the lives of the young people in our care. Training will be provided but the most important quality we are looking for is a commitment and a desire to bring about a positive change in the lives of young people. The successful candidate will have experience working in a Children's Home, and will already have achieved the Level 3 Diploma in Children's Residential Care.

Deputy Manager Role Will Involve:

  • Helping to create a positive environment for each young person with particular reference to their safety, health and education.
  • Helping to carry the home's ethos and values through to the young people and represent Blue Mountain Homes as a professional.
  • Maintaining good professional practices in accordance with Ofsted Regulations and the Quality Care Standards for children’s homes.
  • Engaging in the effective delivery of residential childcare in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
  • Managing the Home in the absence of the Registered Manager.
  • Working on the floor alongside Children’s Residential Care Workers and the Young People.

Our normal shift patterns are on a rolling rota basis and our shift working hours are: 07.30am-23.00pm per shift, which means days of working can vary from week to week. Sleep in shifts are essential for this role. All applicants must have a valid manual UK/EU Driving Licence. A company application form will be required to be fully completed and returned prior to interview. This will be part of the offer process. We operate using Safer Recruitment at all times so any offer of employment would be dependent on the necessary checks and enhanced DBS.

Salary: Up to £42,432* (£65 per sleep included). Dependent on experience, qualifications and based on 8 sleeps per month.
