Role Overview Grow sales and profit within the assigned region by developing sales within the company’s existing customers and bringing new customers into the business. The company’s customers will typically be supermarket retailers or distributors and will require empathy, commercial acumen, and an excellent understanding of the retail environment within that region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Development
- Plan and develop strategies for new business development across given markets and target customers
- Respond to and follow up on sales leads, with the objective of converting leads into active customers and building market intelligence
- Ensure all lead information is accurately recorded in internal systems
- Build strong relationships with key decision-makers in potential customer organisations
- Conduct both desk and in-market research to identify new prospects and evaluate market opportunities
- Prepare and deliver effective sales presentations to prospective customers and relevant stakeholders
- Review, screen, and engage existing sales leads
- Prepare annual sales and profitability budgets for new business development
- Monitor performance against monthly and quarterly targets and proactively address any variance
- Produce reports and analysis on new business opportunities as required and present to senior management
- Act as point of contact with customers for every aspect of their commercial relationship with Ramsden International
- Plan and develop specific sales and account management strategies for each customer and market aimed at maximising growth, profitability, customer service and retention
- Prepare annual sales and profitability budget for each customer
- Closely monitor performance against budget and report on any variance in weekly sales meeting
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key personnel in customer’s organisations and gain knowledge of their business, consumers and market
- Ensure customers receive all relevant marketing, promotions and other information required to maximise commercial opportunities
- Provide internal reports on customers and market developments where required
- Visit customers in their markets, and make necessary travel arrangements
- Negotiate trading terms, discounts and service levels with customers, and review these periodically
- Accumulate knowledge of best-selling and new products to enable high quality range advice to be given to customers, with support of Trading department
- Monitor any developments in customer’s markets which may affect our business
- Develop awareness of legislative, operational, logistical or administrative issues regarding exports to customer’s markets with support from other internal departments
- Ensure the delivery of high levels of customer service to all customers
- Ensure accounts are managed within credit limits and payment terms, taking proactive action when needed
- Maintain accurate order and customer information in internal systems

- Ability to speak a second European language (advantageous not essential).
