The Role and the Team

The Partnerships team at Blue Light Card is going through an exciting period of change.

As the team specialises into dedicated functions, a brand-new outbound acquisition capability is being built, and this role is part of that build.

If you enjoy the hunt, thrive on working through setbacks, and want genuine earning potential without a ceiling, this could be the right move.

As a Partner Acquisition Manager, you'll own a defined set of categories and take full responsibility for building and converting a pipeline of new retail partners.

That means identifying targets, leading outreach across phone, email, and Linked In, negotiating commercial terms, and closing deals.

You’ll report into a Category Lead and collaborate closely with B2B, Partner, and Performance Managers.

  • What You’ll Do
  • Own and manage your new business pipeline, ensuring opportunities are progressing at every stage of the funnel and using conversion data to focus your time where it matters most
  • Lead outbound outreach across multiple channels - phone, email, Linked In, and in person - to identify and engage prospective retail partners within your categories
  • Negotiate commercial terms and offer strength with partners from the outset, securing deals that deliver genuine value for BLC members
  • Clearly communicate the BLC partner proposition, helping prospective partners understand what membership means for their brand and ours
  • Close deals efficiently and take partners through to go live, adapting your outreach and negotiation style as you learn what works
  • Manage new partner accounts for the first six months post-launch, building strong relationships and supporting account growth before a structured handover
  • Share insights on what's landing well in your outreach with the wider team, contributing to collective learning and supporting newer colleagues to develop their own pipeline skills
  • Keep senior stakeholders informed on pipeline progress, flagging where support or resource is needed proactively
  • What You’ll Bring
  • Proven outbound new business experience in a sales or commercial role, with a track record of cold outreach across multiple channels and comfort with high rejection rates
  • Strong negotiation skills, with the ability to secure favourable commercial terms and close deals at pace
  • Clear and organised communication, both written and spoken, with the ability to articulate a compelling proposition to prospective partners
  • A target-focused, self-starting approach - you manage your own pipeline, take responsibility for your numbers, and find ways to keep momentum going independently
  • Experience in B2B sales, retail partnerships, affiliate or performance marketing, or a similar commercial environment would be a bonus, as would familiarity with Hub Spot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, or a comparable CRM
  • Our Culture

Our mission is simple: make heroes happy.

Our members are real-life heroes who keep us all safe, cared for, and thriving.

It's what gets us up in the morning, what makes us want to think bigger, and create something that truly matters.

We don't just follow the usual path - we look for smarter, bolder ways to deliver real impact.

We take ownership, move fast, and work shoulder to shoulder to build something special.

We promote hybrid working, and value in-person collaboration so encourage time in our offices - either the HQ in Leicestershire, or London, Holborn office.

The frequency and office location will vary depending on the role and team.

We aim to be flexible, but we aren't able to offer fully remote working.

Blue Light Card is an equal opportunities employer.

We're committed to building a diverse and inclusive team where different perspectives and experiences help us grow, innovate, and better reflect the communities we serve.

We make recruiting decisions based on your experience and skills.
