The Role and the Team
We’re looking for a Finance Business Partner to join our FP&A team, working alongside our Senior Finance Business Partner. This is a back-office role, it’s a seat at the table, helping to shape decisions that drive Blue Light Card’s growth. One day you’ll be deep in the data, uncovering opportunities in our revenue streams; the next, you’ll be in strategy discussions, modelling scenarios that influence how we scale and deliver even more value to our members. This is a real opportunity to make your mark, bringing insight, challenge and commercial thinking to teams across Growth, Marketing and Product and playing a key role in unlocking the next phase of our journey.
What You’ll Do
- Act as the finance lead in cross-functional working groups, advising stakeholders on the value created by key commercial initiatives and driving accountability around outcomes.
- Identify P&L opportunities proactively, deep-diving into performance data to surface where the business should double down or course-correct.
- Analyse customer behaviour across acquisition, retention and lifetime value, using cohort analysis and full funnel analytics to inform commercial decisions.
- Build and communicate the commercial narrative behind monthly business reviews, presenting financial performance clearly to senior leadership.
- Drive budgeting and forecasting cycles in close partnership with senior stakeholders, producing accurate, insight-led views of future performance.
- Conduct variance analysis to highlight the key drivers of financial results and recommend clear actions in response.
- Contribute to long-term financial modelling and scenario analysis to support executive decision-making.
- Perform market evaluation and benchmarking to provide external context around member behaviour and financial performance.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven experience in FP&A or commercial finance, with a strong grasp of forecasting, budgeting, reforecasting and financial reporting.
- A background in a D2C or B2C business, ideally in ecommerce, marketplace or tech.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse revenue performance and translate findings into commercial recommendations that influence strategy and growth.
- Strong data modelling skills, with hands-on experience in areas such as LTV, churn, retention, full funnel analytics or marketing measurement.
- Advanced Excel skills, including experience with modelling, automation or macros and familiarity with SQL.
- Strong stakeholder influencing skills, comfortable challenging, advising and building trusted relationships with non-finance colleagues at a senior level.
- A recognised accountancy qualification (e.g. CIMA or ACCA), or working towards one; experience with Datarails or advanced SQL would be a bonus but is not essential.
