Blue Legal are partnering with a leading law firm who are recruiting for a Business Development Sector Senior Manager, Industrials & Defence to join their London office. You will help deliver the firm\’s Clients & Sectors strategy by partnering with Sector Leaders to drive growth through strategic alignment, cross-selling, and proactive client engagement.The Responsibilities:Define and execute a focused Industrials strategy (with emphasis on aerospace, defence, and security), leveraging data, market intel, and client feedback to drive profitable growth.Regularly review the client portfolio to ensure alignment with firm priorities, sector trends, and future opportunities, integrating industry developments and convergence into strategy.Establish clear targets and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of sector strategy and business development initiatives.Lead sector-specific BD and client-targeting efforts, collaborating with BDM teams on campaigns and focusing on high-potential clients and opportunities.Oversee win strategies and proposal development, provide data-led insights for pipeline management, and adjust strategies based on market trends.Build strong internal relationships, facilitate cross-sector coordination, support white-space analysis and action plans, and oversee client account management and feedback processes.The Candidate:Significant experience in global business development within legal or professional services, with a proven ability to design and implement sector-specific strategies that drive revenue and cross-selling.Strong understanding of the Industrial sector, would be preferable, including clients, trends, and challenges, ideally with energy, chemicals, defence, and security experience, plus comfort navigating complex, matrixed environments.Strategic and collaborative approach: Demonstrated success in partnering with senior stakeholders, leveraging data-driven insights for strategic decisions, and engaging directly with clients to deliver growth.The Recruitment Process – How to get it right!
