Overview

A leading global law firm are seeking a Senior Business Development Manager to join their team, based in London. This role supports the firm’s global Finance & Energy Transition Group. The role involves supporting partners on strategic business initiatives, managing pitches, developing client engagement initiatives, and driving profile-raising activities.

The Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Head of BD Finance, EMEA MP and Group Heads to shape strategy for the London and EMEA Finance division, identifying growth areas, influencing priorities and driving initiatives aligned with firmwide goals.
  • Lead BD and marketing for the Energy Transition and Infrastructure Finance group, advising Partners on strategy to grow client relationships, drive revenue and raise profile, with impact across Finance, Energy, Infrastructure and TMT sectors globally.
  • Identify and lead strategic client pursuits across Finance and priority sectors, developing account plans, owning key relationships, and advising CRPs to ensure commercial, targeted growth.
  • Help build a high-performing BD team by aligning activity to strategy, mentoring team members across practices and stepping in for the Head of BD Finance when required.
  • Shape product development and go-to-market strategies to drive profitable growth, with a focus on key firm priorities: Energy Transition and Private Capital.
  • Lead Finance pitch activity—managing the pipeline, guiding strategy on key bids, crafting value propositions, and coaching Partners to improve pitch ROI across London, EMEA and the US.
  • Drive high-impact thought leadership and brand initiatives, leveraging media and trade relationships, aligning with firm priorities and tracking ROI to improve profile and influence.

The Candidate

  • Experience in a similar role within a legal or professional services environment.
  • Strong systems skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and InterAction.
  • Degree Educated
