We are seeking a Legal Assistant to join our Employment department on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside experienced legal professionals, supporting a busy and highly regarded team while gaining exposure to a broad range of employment law matters.
The Role
As a Legal Assistant, you will work closely with fee earners and colleagues across the department, providing comprehensive administrative support and helping to ensure matters progress efficiently and accurately. This is a varied role that offers exposure to client interaction, legal processes, business development activities and operational support within a professional legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Legal & Administrative Support
- Providing day-to-day administrative support to fee earners within the Employment team.
- Managing file opening, document production, filing, archiving and correspondence.
- Supporting document preparation, including drafting documents, bills and forms using approved templates and precedents.
- Assisting with legal processes, including online portals, court documentation, funding applications and case administration.
- Managing emails, telephone enquiries and diary coordination where required.
- Liaising with clients, courts, experts, agents and other third parties.
- Supporting the management of confidential documentation and client records.
- Client Service & Relationship Management
- Delivering a professional and responsive service to clients at all times.
- Acting as a key point of contact for client enquiries and maintaining strong working relationships.
- Supporting fee earners with client communications via telephone, email and written correspondence.
- Assisting with new client enquiries and ensuring a positive client experience throughout the process.
- Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensuring compliance with firm policies and procedures.
- Supporting file audits and administrative compliance checks.
- Assisting with file opening processes, anti-money laundering checks and risk management requirements.
- Maintaining high standards of confidentiality, data protection and information security.
- Business Development & Team Support
- Assisting with marketing and business development activities.
- Preparing presentation materials and client-facing documentation.
- Updating and maintaining CRM records and client information.
