Blue Legal have partnered with a global law firm to resource a Head of Marketing & Business Development (M&BD), based in London. The role-holder will oversee and drive the firm’s strategic business development initiatives across six key sectors and manage the M&BD team, ensuring the alignment with the firm’s objectives.

The Responsibilities:

  • Manage the In-Group M&BD team, setting clear objectives, conducting appraisals, and ensuring high-quality, consistent support across all sectors.
  • Collaborate with sector leaders to develop and implement business development plans, ensuring each group’s objectives are aligned with the firm’s overall strategy.
  • Lead the drafting and management of proposals, bids, panels, and marketing materials for client opportunities.
  • Provide guidance on budget management for the Groups, ensuring alignment with business development priorities.
  • Improve processes and foster knowledge sharing between teams to enhance efficiency and best practices.
  • Regularly report on business development activities to senior management and sector teams.
  • Lead client engagement efforts, including client listening initiatives and relationship meetings.
  • Oversee the implementation of branding and PR campaigns to position the firm and its sector groups as thought leaders.
  • Manage the directory submission process, ensuring accurate representation across sectors.

The Candidate:

  • 10-15 years of experience in marketing and BD, ideally within professional services.
  • Proven leadership, team management, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Strong commercial focus with excellent project management and organisational skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
