Blue Legal are partnering with a global law firm who are recruiting for a Client Development Manager, International, to join their London office. The role is focussed on Energy and Finance, and involves working closely with firm lawyers, leadership, and their Client Development teammates to develop outstanding presentations, pitches, and responses to Requests for Proposals and on business development initiatives for the London and Brussels offices.
The Responsibilities:
- Manage the complete proposal pipeline including analysing requests, participating in go/no-go decisions, drafting proposal documents, maintaining records, and providing post-pitch analysis while developing content for the firm's proposal systems.
- Lead business development programs and strategic planning for the Global Projects Group, providing market intelligence and trends analysis to partnership through research, strategy meetings, and development of special projects.
- Work closely with client development teams across Middle East, Singapore, and other international offices to ensure alignment on business development initiatives and promote cross-selling opportunities.
- Support lawyer-led client teams with strategic account management, identify client targets, develop research, and execute plans to acquire new business while coaching on client relationship best practices.
- Plan and measure ROI on industry events including conferences, seminars, and client dinners, while overseeing business development expenditure and budget management for London and Brussels offices.
- Collaborate with communications team on brand enhancement, manage directory submissions and awards, support lateral partner integration programs, and produce regular reports on business development activities.
The Candidate:
- Graduate-level education with fluent English and strong communication skills across all mediums (in-person, email, phone), plus ability to professionally guide senior partners through proposal processes.
- Self-motivated individual capable of working independently with minimal guidance while also collaborating effectively in team environments and demonstrating leadership in high-pressure situations.
- Highly organised and detail-oriented with strong editing/proofreading capabilities, above-average Microsoft Office proficiency, and ability to prioritise workload and delegate effectively in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
- Understanding of international projects and project financing complexities, along with proposal and project management training preferred but not essential.
