Blue Legal are excited to be partnering with a prestigious City law firm to recruit a Business Development Assistant for their London office. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in driving the firm’s growth working closely with leading Real Estate and Public Policy practice groups, while also contributing to high-profile, firm-wide business development initiatives. The role offers excellent exposure across marketing, client engagement, and strategic projects, making it ideal for someone eager to build a dynamic career within a top-tier legal environment.

The Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of practice area marketing plans and campaigns, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Assist with business development activities, including credentials management, pitch support, client research, and identification of marketing opportunities such as conferences.
  • Lead on legal directory and award submissions for designated practice areas and individuals.
  • Manage marketing communications tasks, including producing newsletters via Vuture, maintaining CRM data in InterAction, and monitoring engagement metrics.
  • Collaborate with partners, fee earners, and marketing teams on events, campaigns, PR initiatives, and profile-raising activities, ensuring alignment with firm strategy and brand standards.
  • Conduct and analyse market, client, and competitor research to inform BD and marketing initiatives and enhance cross-selling opportunities.

The Candidate:

  • Some experience at assistant level (preferably in professional services) and a strong interest in learning about the practice areas.
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Proactive, tenacious, and capable of managing multiple projects effectively.
