Blue Legal are partnering with a leading international law firm who are recruiting a Business Development Manager to join their Glasgow or Edinburgh office. The role involves leading and supporting an integrated group comprising of the main IP & Technology & Media lawyers, working for many of the world’s biggest brands on often market-defining mandates. The ideal candidate will have a mindset focussed on process improvement with the ability to identify areas where ways of working can be adapted/automated to improve effectiveness.
The Responsibilities:
- Support Partners with business development (BD) initiatives and relationship management with clients and prospects.
- Stay up to date on legal and industry developments to inform BD strategies and conversations.
- Create compelling pitch materials and presentations to engage current and potential clients.
- Organise and manage events, webinars, and networking opportunities to promote the firm and build BD presence.
- Contribute to marketing campaigns, legal directory submissions, and award entries to boost visibility and rankings.
- Assist with business planning, budget tracking, and maintaining BD tools, content, and CRM systems.
The Candidate:
- Proven experience in Business Development and/or Marketing within a law firm setting.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to align BD activities to firm-wide strategy.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and prioritisation skills with a proactive, solution-focused mindset.
