We are working with a highly regarded organisation in Jersey to recruit an experienced Billing & Revenue Controller to join its finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional with a strong understanding of the complete revenue cycle, from WIP management and billing through to credit control, collections and reporting.
The successful candidate will work closely with key stakeholders across the business, taking ownership of revenue processes and helping ensure accurate and timely billing, effective WIP management and strong cash collection.
The Role
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the billing and revenue cycle from WIP through to invoicing, collections and reporting
- Reviewing and monitoring WIP, identifying issues and working with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely billing
- Preparing and processing accurate client invoices
- Managing outstanding debt and supporting effective credit control and collection activity
- Monitoring aged debt and proactively following up outstanding balances
- Producing regular revenue, WIP and collections reports
- Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and providing clear information around billing and revenue positions
- Identifying opportunities to improve billing, revenue and collection processes
- Ensuring financial information is accurate and maintained in accordance with internal procedures
- Supporting the wider finance function as required
Previous experience within a law firm or legal/professional services environment would be highly advantageous, as would experience using Aderant.
About You
You will have previous experience in billing, revenue control, credit control or a similar finance position, together with a strong understanding of the complete revenue lifecycle.
You will also bring:
- Strong knowledge of WIP management, billing, collections and financial reporting
- A good understanding of accounting principles
- Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills
- Confidence communicating with stakeholders at different levels of an organisation
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- A proactive and commercially minded approach
