You're not stuck. You're waiting. The best number-twos we meet aren't struggling. They're trusted. They run the floor, hold the standards, and cover the manager without being asked. But quietly, they know they're ready for the building to be theirs, and nobody's handed them the keys yet.

WHO WE ARE

Blue Gem operates some of London's most premium workspaces. We design, build and run beautiful, hospitality-led buildings where the UK's most discerning companies choose to work. Our standards are uncompromising. Our brand is built on detail. We're growing fast, we're opening new buildings, and we're hiring the people who'll grow with us.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Be the number two in one of our flagship Central London centres. Own the standards, support the team, and learn to run the building as your own. £40,000-£45,000 plus up to 25% site bonus, with a real, supported path to Operations Director within 2-3 years. This is the seat that builds General Managers. You partner the GM on everything, and when they're not in the building, you are the building. Two roles available.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

  • Champion centre standards. Impeccable presentation and exceptional service, day in, day out.
  • Support and lead the team. On-site staff management, mentoring, 1-2-1s and development plans.
  • Deputise for your manager. Step up and run the centre confidently when needed.
  • Support the commercials. Revenue tracking, budget monitoring and helping review the site P&L.
  • Drive renewals and service reviews. Track renewals, prepare paperwork and help keep clients delighted.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We hire on character first. Skills can be taught, the person you already are cannot. We're looking for someone who brings:

  • Team leadership. You motivate and develop the on-site team, leading by example.
  • Clear communicator. Professional and warm with clients, team and your manager.
  • Client-first mindset. You deliver a warm, attentive client experience.
  • Commercial awareness. You support billing, budget monitoring and basic P&L.
  • Flexible and hands-on. You step in wherever the centre needs, including for the GM.

And three things we can't train:

  • Positively Responsive, with a smile.
  • Genuinely Thoughtful, with a point of view.
  • Devoted to Deliver, empowered to act.

WHERE THIS ROLE TAKES YOU

Deputy Manager → General Manager → Senior Operations Manager. And the horizon for the right person: a real shot at Operations Director within 2-3 years, backed by a thorough, supportive development programme delivered at the pace that suits you.

WHY YOU'LL LOVE IT HERE

  • Flagship Central London buildings. You'll work somewhere you're proud of.
  • Real, fast growth. A business opening new buildings means genuine room to climb.
  • Backed, not thrown in. Supportive training at a pace that suits you.
  • A genuine team. Events, lunches and a one-team culture where people look out for each other.

The numbers behind that:

  • 30% of our people have been promoted
  • 86% are proud to work here
  • 84% say the training is outstanding
  • 98% portfolio occupancy, versus 83–88% across the industry

THIS COULD BE YOUR STORY

Every one of these roles has a real shot at Operations Director in 2–3 years. Here's the proof. Indre Vasiliauskaite, Now Executive Director, Blue Gem. Indre didn't come from our sector. She built her foundation in client-facing roles elsewhere, where service, standards and a feel for people became second nature. We hired her for exactly that. Everything that followed, she earned. Her path ran from a client-facing foundation, to Business Manager at Blue Gem, to Head of Operations within three years, to the Operating Board, to the top table as Executive Director. She started where you're starting. The next chapter could be yours.

ONE MORE THING

We hire purely on character and values, and we welcome people from every background and walk of life. Send your CV and a line about you to . Tell us, in your own words, why this seat is yours.
