A leading specialist MEP contractor is seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join the delivery team on one of the UK's most significant data centre developments. This is a rare opportunity to become involved at the very beginning of a flagship project, with approximately 6 months of pre-construction involvement before moving into full project delivery on a £200m+ MEP package. The overall programme is expected to run for approximately five years, offering exceptional long-term career stability and progression.

Working alongside senior project leadership, design teams, commercial teams and the client, you will play a key role in shaping the electrical delivery strategy before leading the successful execution of major works on site.

The Role

As Electrical Project Manager, you will take ownership of the electrical package from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover. Responsibilities will include:

  • Leading electrical pre-construction activities and delivery planning
  • Reviewing design development and ensuring buildability throughout the project lifecycle
  • Supporting procurement strategy and package buyout activities
  • Developing project execution plans, programmes and resource requirements
  • Managing subcontractors, suppliers and specialist vendors
  • Driving programme, quality and safety performance across the electrical scope
  • Working closely with commercial teams to manage budgets and cost control
  • Building strong relationships with the client, consultants and wider project stakeholders
  • Coordinating interfaces between CSA, Mechanical and Electrical disciplines
  • Supporting testing, commissioning and final handover activities

What We're Looking For

We are particularly interested in candidates who have strong pre-construction experience and understand how to set large-scale projects up for success before site mobilisation. You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager on major MEP or mission-critical projects
  • Strong pre-construction, planning and project setup experience
  • Experience managing large electrical packages from concept through delivery
  • Excellent knowledge of commercial, technical and programme management principles
  • Ability to engage confidently with clients, consultants and senior stakeholders
  • Experience within Data Centres, Pharmaceutical, Semiconductor, Advanced Manufacturing or other complex construction environments
  • Strong leadership and team management capabilities
