Commissioning Manager – Data Hall Fit Out

Location: Canary Wharf, London

Project: GC NA Data Hall Fit Out – Phase 1 of 2

Duration: 2-Year Contract

We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to join a major data hall fit-out project in Canary Wharf, working for the GC NA programme. This is Phase 1 of a large, multi-phase development, offering a minimum of 2 years’ work with strong potential continuity into Phase 2.

Role Overview

As Commissioning Manager, you will take full ownership of the MEP commissioning strategy and delivery for the data hall fit-out, ensuring systems are commissioned safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with project requirements, programme, and client standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the overall commissioning plan and strategy
• Lead and coordinate commissioning activities across all MEP systems (HVAC, electrical, BMS, life safety, etc.)
• Manage commissioning agents, trade contractors, and specialist vendors
• Ensure commissioning aligns with data centre standards, client requirements, and statutory compliance
• Oversee integrated systems testing (IST) and witness testing where required
• Track commissioning progress against programme and report to senior project stakeholders
• Manage commissioning documentation, O&M manuals, and handover processes
• Identify risks and resolve commissioning-related issues proactively

Key Requirements

• Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager on large-scale projects, ideally data centres or mission-critical environments
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems commissioning
• Experience working on complex fit-out projects
• Excellent coordination, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
• Strong understanding of UK commissioning standards and best practices
• Ability to work on-site in Canary Wharf for the duration of the project
