Freelance Site Manager | Surrey / South West London | 6-Month Contract | Start: 19 October 2026 | Rate: Negotiable Lead a standout luxury build from site to completion This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to join a multi-award-winning luxury timber-frame design and build business, taking the lead on the day-to-day management of an exciting project in Surrey / South West London. This is no ordinary construction environment. You’ll be working on a high-end project where quality, attention to detail and exceptional workmanship are every bit as important as keeping the programme on track. You’ll be the key person on site - coordinating contractors, managing deliveries, maintaining high standards of health & safety and ensuring the project progresses safely, efficiently and to programme. What you'll be doing Acting as the main point of contact for contractors, subcontractors and visitors Coordinating subcontractors and ensuring works are delivered to programme Managing deliveries, materials, site access and safe unloading Carrying out regular site walkarounds and monitoring workmanship and progress Reading and maintaining construction drawings and technical information Managing site records, paperwork and programme updates Handling on-site design queries and liaising with the wider project team Maintaining site security, welfare, compound and general housekeeping Running site inductions and toolbox talks Reviewing RAMS and monitoring compliance on site Checking contractor accreditations, plant, machinery and scaffolding Maintaining comprehensive health & safety records Monitoring PPE requirements and site safety standards Working closely with the Project Manager and Operations Director to resolve issues and keep the project moving What we're looking for We’re looking for a confident, organised and hands-on Site Manager who knows how to take control of a busy construction site and keep things moving. You’ll need: 5+ years’ construction experience, ideally across a range of project types and sizes Strong experience within high-end residential construction Experience with landscaping and timber-frame projects A proven track record in construction/site management Excellent organisation and communication skills The ability to read and interpret construction drawings Strong knowledge of health & safety and site documentation Experience with procurement and coordinating materials A proactive approach to programme management and problem-solving Valid SMSTS, First Aid and CSCS Managers Card The opportunity You’ll be joining an award-winning specialist business where craftsmanship and quality are at the heart of what they do, working alongside an experienced project team and taking genuine responsibility for keeping this project on track. 6-month freelance contract Based: Surrey / South West London Start date: 19 October 2026 Hours: Monday–Friday, 7.30am–5.00pm Rate: Negotiable depending on experience What’s Next?
