Our client is seeking a Trainer with experience of facilitating engaging training on safety critical subject matter. This role plays a critical part in ensuring internal employees are fully equipped with the skills, knowledge and confidence required to operate safely, effectively and in line with regulatory and business standards.
The Trainer will design and deliver engaging, high-impact learning solutions, combining face-to-face, digital and blended learning approaches. Working closely with operational stakeholders and subject matter experts, this role focuses on driving operational excellence, safety compliance and real-world performance in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain structured training journeys for employees, aligned to role-based training needs and safety requirements
- Scope, plan and deliver induction programmes and ongoing development solutions
- Design and deliver engaging learning using a blend of classroom, digital and experiential approaches
- Create, curate and manage digital learning content including videos, animations, podcasts and other learning assets
- Deliver impactful face-to-face training using adult learning principles and interactive facilitation techniques
- Develop refresher training and briefings to maintain competence and embed changes in standards, regulation or process
- Partner with line managers to support learning transfer and on-the-job performance
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes and continuously improve learning design and delivery
- Ensure training activity meets internal governance, compliance and safety standards
- Maintain accurate training records and support reporting on learning activity
- Support wider learning delivery across the organisation when required
Skills
- Strong understanding of the full training cycle and learning needs analysis
- Ability to design and deliver engaging face-to-face and digital learning solutions
- Confident facilitator with the ability to engage operational and safety-critical audiences
- Experience creating learning content in collaboration with SMEs
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Ability to evaluate learning impact and adapt training accordingly
- Well-organised with strong planning, prioritisation and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, regulated and safety-focused environment
Qualifications
- CIPD qualification (or equivalent) is desirable
- Safety-critical competency (or willingness to work towards this where applicable)
Experience
- Experience delivering training within an operational, technical or safety-critical environment, e.g. within construction, aviation, manufacturing, transport or similar
- Background in learning design and delivery within safety critical, regulated industries
- Experience working closely with line managers and operational teams to support performance improvement
- Exposure to digital and blended learning approaches
- Experience ensuring learning solutions meet governance, compliance and regulatory requirements
