An exciting opportunity for an experienced Learning Technologist to support the design, development and delivery of high-quality digital learning for professional CPD programmes. The role provides technical, pedagogical and creative expertise across a range of learning technologies while contributing to the organisation’s digital transformation initiatives.
Working closely with internal teams, subject matter experts and external technology suppliers, you will ensure the effective use of learning platforms, enhance online training experiences, and support colleagues through upskilling, standards development and technical guidance.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and deliver engaging digital learning solutions as part of a national CPD training programme.
- Analyse learner feedback and activity data within the LMS and recommend improvements to training content and delivery.
- Conduct market research relating to training trends and emerging needs within the profession.
- Review platform and supplier updates, advising on the best use of learning technologies and LMS features.
- Support the development of internal training standards and materials to upskill colleagues involved in CPD delivery.
- Provide technical guidance to colleagues on LMS usage, content structuring and best practice for learner engagement.
- Build an understanding of the profession and sector to identify emerging training needs and collaborate with subject matter experts on content development.
- Support trainer resourcing, including participating in interview panels for subject matter expert recruitment when required.
- Deliver online training sessions as scheduled within the annual L&D programme.
- Maintain accurate learner and delegate information within the CRM, working closely with membership teams to ensure data quality.
- Provide administrative and technical support during periods of absence within the training team, including bookings, email and telephone queries, webinar hosting and minor marketing tasks.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and organisational policies, including GDPR, intellectual property, accessibility, EDI, cyber security, and quality assurance.
Skills
- Expert-level proficiency with at least two Learning Management Systems.
- Advanced Microsoft applications skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CMS tools.
- Video and audio editing (e.g., iMovie, Camtasia, Screenflow, Audacity).
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage concurrent projects.
- Graphic design capability using tools such as Canva.
- Excellent customer service, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organised, adaptable, proactive and resilient.
- Ability to develop training content in podcast formats (Audacity) is desirable.
- Experience creating micro-learning for mobile devices is desirable.
- Awareness of AI tools for content and assessment development, including understanding risk and governance considerations is desirable.
Qualifications
- Qualification in Education Technology, Instructional Design or e-Learning.
- Teaching or training qualification and relevant degree is desirable.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience designing and developing multimedia training content for LMS platforms.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience using CRM systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics).
- Strong track record managing multiple training development projects to tight deadlines and budgets.
- Experience applying evaluation methods and analysing data (including Excel).
- Proven ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally, producing clear reports where required.
- Ability to work independently with subject matter experts and contribute effectively to team collaboration.
