Why this role exists
Blue Education has strong expertise, established education services and emerging technology‑enabled products, but needs to build greater awareness and trust in the UK market. This role will establish the foundations for growth by developing clear positioning, building audience and community, testing channels and creating a repeatable marketing engine. Over time, the insight generated will help Blue Education understand which messages, audiences and channels are working, and shape the next stage of the company’s marketing function.
The Role
This is a content, community and brand‑led growth role. Immediate focus is building awareness, credibility and audience engagement while tracking commercial signals such as qualified enquiries, booked calls and conversion indicators. This is not currently a pure performance marketing or demand‑generation role with full ownership of paid acquisition, CAC optimisation, funnel conversion and revenue generation.
We are looking for a Growth Marketing Lead to build Blue Education’s awareness, credibility and audience in the UK market. This is the first dedicated UK growth marketing hire. The successful candidate will build Blue Education’s market presence, develop its content and community strategy, and create a consistent marketing engine across relevant channels. The role is hands‑on. The successful candidate should be able to develop positioning, create strong content, test messaging and formats quickly, build audience engagement and use AI tools to increase the quality, speed and volume of marketing output. This role is suited to someone who has helped an early‑stage company, new product or new market presence grow from a low‑awareness starting point.
Responsibilities
- Build and execute Blue Education’s UK growth marketing strategy, with an initial focus on brand awareness, content, community and audience growth.
- Develop clear positioning and messaging that explains Blue Education’s expertise, services and transition into technology‑enabled admissions and guidance products.
- Build and manage a repeatable content engine for parents, students, schools and education partners across relevant channels, including LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Search, email, webinars and community‑led formats.
- Produce high‑quality short‑form video, social content, thought leadership, campaign copy, landing page content, email content and educational materials.
- Use AI tools to support content ideation, copywriting, scripting, design, video editing, repurposing, localisation and performance analysis.
- Test different messages, content angles, formats, audiences and channels to understand what resonates in the UK market.
- Build relationships and credibility with relevant audiences, including parents, students, schools, educators, counsellors, creators and sector partners.
- Manage freelancers, editors, designers, creators, KOLs or agencies where useful, while remaining directly involved in execution.
- Work closely with the leadership team to turn business priorities into clear marketing campaigns and content initiatives.
- Track performance across content, audience growth, engagement, qualified enquiries, booked calls, conversion indicators and channel learning.
- Develop the workflows, templates and operating processes needed to scale marketing output efficiently.
- Help define the next stage of Blue Education’s marketing function as awareness, audience and channel traction develop.
Required skills and experience
- Around four to six years’ experience in growth marketing, content marketing, brand marketing, community marketing, social media marketing or a related role.
- Experience building awareness, audience or community for an early‑stage company, new product or new market.
- Strong hands‑on content creation ability across written, visual and short‑form video formats.
- Strong understanding of relevant UK‑facing digital channels, potentially including LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Google/Search, email and webinars.
- High level of comfort using AI tools for content creation, copywriting, ideation, design, editing, research and workflow efficiency.
- Strong ability to translate complex or specialist subject matter into clear, engaging and credible content.
- Good commercial judgement and the ability to understand how marketing activity contributes to audience growth and commercial opportunity.
- Strong written English and the ability to produce persuasive, audience‑appropriate marketing copy.
- Good creative and visual judgement, particularly across social and video content.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑moving environment where the marketing function is still being built.
- Able to manage freelancers, creators, agencies or KOLs effectively.
- High ownership mentality and willingness to remain close to execution.
Nice to have
- Experience in education, tutoring, university admissions, schools, ed‑tech, SaaS.
- Experience marketing to parents, students, schools, teachers, counsellors or education‑sector partners.
- Experience creating content for both official brand channels and more informal creator‑style accounts.
- Experience with tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Canva, CapCut, Runway, Descript, Adobe Creative Cloud, HubSpot, Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Notion, Airtable, Zapier or Make.
- Basic understanding of SEO, landing pages, email marketing and marketing automation.
- Experience building creator partnerships, influencer programmes, community initiatives or founder‑led content.
What success looks like
A successful person in this role will help Blue Education establish a credible and recognisable presence in the UK market. They will create a clear marketing strategy, build a consistent content engine, grow audience engagement, test and scale successful formats, and develop a stronger understanding of which messages and channels are producing meaningful results.
In the first 90 days, success should include:
- Clear UK positioning and messaging
- A practical content and channel plan
- Repeatable content production workflows
- Consistent marketing activity across priority channels
- Early audience growth and engagement
Compensation and benefits
