C-Tech Automation is seeking to expand their mechanical design and development capability with a Graduate Mechanical Engineer who has interests and competencies in design and build as well as an interest in mechatronic systems and food. Join our rapidly expanding team to support current and future equipment designs from simple hand-operated manual line-side systems through to complex production equipment.

Key Requirements:

  • 2:2 or above BEng degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support our Lead Mechanical Engineer by working on current equipment solutions, ranging from simple mechanical solutions and manually operated equipment to more complex systems.
  • Start with a series of small design and build projects to gain confidence.
  • Develop ideas within the Fusion 360 environment, using standard part-numbering and assembly numbers and the central CAD database of supplier parts.
  • Export, slice and print designs with a fail-fast approach to development.
  • Create designs, print, build and test work, and support the mechanical team on projects.
  • Build our repeat system to gain familiarity with build techniques, issues in equipment assembly, sensor installation and setup, sensing systems, smart cameras, access for tools and servicing, as well as cabling and connectivity.
  • Develop capability in pneumatic and electrical systems; training courses will be provided.
  • Design with safety and risk mitigation in mind; training will be provided.
  • Create system Technical Files including calculations, bills of materials, risk assessments, etc.
  • Support recommendations of new technology to develop the team and expand capability.
  • Support achieving UKCA/CE certification for equipment.
  • Support the C-Tech team in generating commercial revenue by supporting customer visits, attending tradeshows, presenting the C-Tech business, and creating case studies of significant project work.
  • Promote C-Tech through social media and generate case studies of significant work for potential customers.
  • Generate commercial proposals, project quotes, and project plans using SCRUM or agile methodology.
  • Maintain project files using MS Teams with up-to-date hardware information.
  • Collaborate to ensure the office and workshop are professional while maintaining a productive and exciting atmosphere.

Your development is key. You will be guided by a Chartered Engineer (IET). C-Tech supports professional development from Incorporated through to Chartered Engineer status with the IET and IMechE.
