C-Tech Automation is seeking to expand their mechanical design and development capability, with a Graduate Mechanical Engineer with interests and competencies in design and build as well as an interest in mechatronic systems.
We would like you to join our rapidly expanding team to support our current and future equipment designs from simple hand-operated manual line-side systems through to complex production equipment.

Key Requirements:
- 2:2 or above BEng degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related discipline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Engineering Electronic Systems: Supporting our mechanical and software team, you will be working alongside them to develop the electronic control systems capable of connecting the software to the hardware. You will undertake the electrical design of the machines from the incoming power to the 24VDC sensors on our actuators, ensuring everything is designed, ordered, installed, and connected in a safe and ordered way.
- You will design our control panels, in-machine mounted back-planes, as well as our small control systems like our new IIoT device Plankton.
- You will design the communications networks around our machines, based on Ethernet connections, using EtherCAT, ModBUS TCP, TCP/IP, and FTP on many of our solutions.
- You will be responsible for tracking development, bug-fixing, and testing your own designs.
- You’ll be responsible for your own documentation and generating your designs. Currently, we use Fusion360 for all our designs.
- Project Engineering Control Cabinets: All our control systems need control cabinets or control back-planes that are both suited to the application and safe. You will develop your skills in assembly, wiring, and testing of these, meaning you'll need to undertake 18th Edition training locally.
- Project Engineering Safety, CE/UKCA, Risk Assessments and PUWER: You will be responsible for the creation of the system Technical File which will include your calculations, bills-of-materials, as well as risk assessments.
- Sales: Support C-Tech team in generating commercial revenue by supporting customer visits, attending tradeshows, presenting the C-Tech business, and creating case studies of significant project work.
- Promote C-Tech through social media platforms and generate case studies of your significant work for potential customers to browse.
- Administration: Work with C-Tech team in generating commercial proposals including supporting the generation of project quotes and project plans using SCRUM or agile methodology.
- Maintain project files and folders using MS Teams to include up-to-date hardware.
- Use the C-Tech Git to safely store your software, comments, and control versions.
- Work with the C-Tech team to ensure that the office and workshop is professional while maintaining a productive and exciting atmosphere.
