Blue Diamond Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a well-established and highly respected house builder, recognised for delivering high-quality homes and making a positive impact through regeneration and affordable housing across the Midlands. Due to continued growth, our client is expanding their Technical Team and is seeking a Technical Coordinator on a full time, permanent basis. This position will report directly into the Technical Director, supporting the delivery of residential developments from pre-construction through to completion.

This opportunity would be particularly well suited to candidates with a civil engineering or infrastructure-led background, who enjoy working across multi-disciplinary teams and managing complex technical information.

The Role

You will play a key role in coordinating technical, engineering and design information, ensuring developments progress smoothly through the planning, approval and construction stages. Key responsibilities include:

  • Design & Technical Coordination
  • Manage external design teams and specialist consultants, ensuring drawings and technical information are delivered accurately, on time and within budget
  • Coordinate engineering, architectural and infrastructure design across all project stages
  • Review and challenge design solutions to ensure buildability, compliance and value
  • Regulatory Approvals & Infrastructure
  • Secure and manage statutory approvals including Planning, Building Regulations, NHBC/LABC
  • Coordinate and manage S278, S38 and S104 agreements, working closely with local authorities and utility providers
  • Ensure designs comply with current legislation, codes of practice and warranty provider standards
  • Stakeholder & Site Support
  • Liaise with internal teams including Construction, Commercial, Sales and Land
  • Chair and document technical and design meetings, tracking actions through to completion
  • Provide proactive technical support to site teams, resolving engineering and infrastructure queries efficiently
  • Documentation & Information Management
  • Issue and manage all technical documentation, including preliminary, construction and as-built information
  • Maintain accurate trackers, reports, programmes and technical records using document management systems

About You

We would welcome applications from candidates who can demonstrate:

  • Experience in a Technical, Engineering or Infrastructure role within residential development, contracting or consultancy
  • A civil engineering, highways, drainage or infrastructure-focused background
  • Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations, planning processes and NHBC/LABC standards
  • Experience coordinating multiple consultants and managing technical approvals
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across disciplines
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive, solutions-focused approach
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit and document management systems (such as Asite, Viewpoint or similar) would be advantageous.
