With a strong track record supporting major construction and infrastructure developments across the UK, our client is now seeking an experienced Bid Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping and strengthening their work winning capability.
This is a central, strategic position responsible for leading and coordinating all tender, proposal and large opportunity submissions across the business. The successful candidate will focus on improving win rates, ensuring consistency and quality across submissions and driving a structured, well-governed bid process for higher-value opportunities, frameworks and strategic accounts.
Working closely with Sales, Operations and senior stakeholders, you will help shape bid strategy, pricing and risk while ensuring proposals are compelling, compliant and commercially robust.
Key Responsibilities
- Bid & Proposal Management
- Lead end-to-end tender and proposal submissions from qualification through to final submission
- Coordinate cross-functional input including Sales, Operational teams, HSEQ and Finance
- Produce structured, persuasive and client-focused proposals for complex or high-value opportunities
- Ensure full compliance with framework and client requirements
- Bid Governance & Process
- Implement and manage formal bid / no-bid decision processes
- Maintain a live pipeline of bids and frameworks
- Track outcomes and conduct post-bid reviews
- Improve quality, consistency and turnaround times across submissions
- Content & Knowledge Management
- Develop and maintain a central bid library (case studies, CVs, ESG content, accreditations and standard responses)
- Own and evolve proposal templates
- Ensure consistent messaging aligned to quality, reliability and national capability
- Frameworks & Strategic Opportunities
- Monitor framework agreements and approved supplier lists
- Support renewals, re-tenders and new framework submissions
- Collaborate with Sales and Business Development on targeted, high-value opportunities
- Work-Winning Materials & Compliance
- Produce high-quality proposals, presentations and capability documentation
- Support PQQs, supplier approvals and compliance processes
- Maintain accreditations and framework documentation as required
About You
Essential
- Proven experience as a Bid Manager, Proposal Manager or similar role within construction, infrastructure, consultancy or professional services
- Strong understanding of frameworks and public sector / Tier 1 contractor procurement
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to craft persuasive responses
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders to tight deadlines
- Highly organised, detail-focused and process-driven
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign / Creative Suite
Desirable
- Experience within engineering surveying or geospatial environments
- Strong visual and creative awareness to enhance proposal presentation and structure
