This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior / Project Manager or an experienced professional with a background in client-side project delivery, assurance or programme management.
The role offers remote working, with occasional travel to head office in Solihull, West midlands.
Qualifications & Memberships:
Degree in Construction, Project Management, Property Management or relevant work experience.
Preferred: Member of RICs; Member of CIOB; APM
Purpose:
To provide project and programme assurance services on behalf of (and working with) the client’s delivery team. To challenge, add value and hold accountable client professional service providers during the whole project or programme delivery cycle.
Key Responsibilities:
- The CAM is tasked with assuring the roll-out and delivery of a portfolio of estate related project works. The CAM will assist in delivering batches of projects on time, within budget, they will ensure that the programme strategy and proposed pipeline for projects is sound and is conducive to achieving best value and maximising opportunities.
- The CAM will operate as part of the Assurance team and will be co-opted and attend the Core Team / Client office as required. The CAM will provide support and guidance on programme/ estates issues to the client core team.
- The CAM will be the first point for escalation of issues that cannot be resolved at Design/ Project Delivery/ Supply Chain level.
- The CAM will review, challenge, and coordinate a response to issues and challenges that will arise during the project delivery lifecycle. They will collect all relevant information and feedback to facilitate a proposed response, recommendations and/ or mitigation and present this for consideration.
- The CAM will be required to assist the client PM role using experience, expertise and strategic planning within the constraints of the programme.
- The CAM may instigate regular portfolio review meetings to facilitate upward reporting. This can include regular project ‘deep dives’ such that any ‘early warnings’ that may result in delay or cost escalation are identified.
- The CAM will assure that all criteria including project deliverables have been completed and approved prior to progressing to the next Key Milestone in the Assurance Gateway.
- The CAM will establish and maintain a summary Portfolio Risk Register for the projects under their control.
- The CAM will be proactive in facilitating and fostering the partnering and collaborative ethos championed by the Core Team and across the entire programme delivery team.
- The CAM primary interfaces outside the client estates teams are: The PMO, the professional services team, main contractors, the nominated supply chain and Client stakeholders.
- The CAM primary interfaces to the client estates teams are: The Core Team Programme and Cost Assurance Manager(s), PMO Manager.
- The CAM shall maintain a valid CSCS card (or equivalent) for the duration of the programme roll-out.
- The CAM in will ensure that national client design standards are consistently applied across the portfolio as a whole, for the scope and specification of all Estates works.
- The CAM will need to attend programme review meetings. They will ensure that, where relevant, all issues are discussed before being escalated to Core Team level.
- The CAM will need to attend stakeholder review meetings with PMO and other DWP service partners and professional services providers.
- The CAM will ensure that the estates delivery programmes and individual milestone programmes are in alignment.
- The CAM, in conjunction with client’s PMs, will ensure that key dates are achieved for individual projects.
- The CAM will maintain a programme tracker identifying key dates and measure achievement performance against these dates. This information will be issued to the core team at agreed intervals.
- The CAM will act as an escalation and intervention route for estates issues at the handover meeting, which cannot be agreed at project level.
- The CAM is the point of escalation for any issues pertaining to statutory approval and consents. Issues should be reviewed and presented to the core team with an action plan and proposed mitigations.
- The CAM will ensure that information issued has been validated as may be required by the Gateway governance and validation process and prior to the relevant Gateway Approval.
