Job Description

Blue Diamond Recruitment is proud to be working with a long term client who is looking to expand their Commercial team with a driven Quantity Surveyor. This role will report to the Director and will manage 2-3 projects across the East Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business based in their Leicestershire based office.

You will run multiple housing projects, managing costs, procurement and subcontractor relationships while working closely with internal teams and clients.

Site visits are typically once per week or as required for client meetings, monthly valuations and project needs. While the team is encouraged to work from the office and collaborate with all departments daily, occasional home working is supported when required.

You will typically manage up to Β£3 million projects across the East Midlands region.

Key Responsibilities

πŸ”· Procuring and negotiating subcontract packages, developing strong relationships with new and existing supply chain partners

πŸ”· Discussing tenders with Technical and Construction teams to ensure all requirements are fully met

πŸ”· Placing orders within tight budgets and ensuring compliance with client-agreed specifications

πŸ”· Delivering cost information in line with existing budgets for medium to large housing schemes

πŸ”· Producing formal monthly cost reports and valuations for clients and stakeholders

πŸ”· Processing monthly and fortnightly subcontractor payments

πŸ”· Working closely with buying and technical departments to drive efficiencies

The successful candidate will have proven experience working within the house building sector and be comfortable running multiple projects simultaneously. You will have a strong understanding of housing developments.

Offering cΒ£55,000 basic salary, the choice of car allowance or company car, 25 days annual leave with the option to purchase up to five additional days, pension, private medical insurance, life assurance and bonus. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm.
