Blue Diamond Recruitment is working exclusively with a well established and growing regional house builder to recruit a Land Buyer for their expanding West Midlands region. This business employs over 100 people and is entering an exciting phase of growth, with plans to quadruple annual unit delivery over the next 5-10 years. They already have sites secured through to 2026, a substantial land bank in place and will be operating across 10+ live sites next year. The Midlands region alone is forecast to grow to circa 400 units per annum.
Working closely with a highly experienced Land Director, the Land Buyer will support the acquisition of both new and existing land opportunities, with a focus on affordable housing and open market residential schemes. This is a hands on role offering excellent exposure to the full land acquisition process and genuine scope for career progression as the region grows.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with the sourcing and appraisal of residential land opportunities
- Supporting negotiations with landowners, agents and local authorities
- Working on affordable housing deals alongside open market schemes
- Supporting due diligence, feasibility and land acquisition processes
- Building relationships across the regional land market
- Attending site visits and meetings across the West Midlands patch
The successful candidate will have a minimum of six months’ experience in land acquisition, development or a related role, with a background in house building, land promotion, development or consultancy. Some knowledge of the East Midlands would be beneficial, although the role is primarily focused on the West Midlands. You will be commercially aware, keen to learn and eager to progress your career, with strong communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach. Land acquisition professionals, residential developments surveyors, land agents and planners would all be suitable candidates for this opportunity.
