We are working with a well established, privately owned land developer specialising in residential and commercial land across Gloucestershire and the surrounding areas. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly experienced and collaborative team within a business that plays a key role in bringing forward strategic land opportunities.

The Land Management Officer will support the Land Manager and work closely with the wider Land team, forming part of a broader Estates function which includes Planning, Technical and Land professionals. This role is integral to the ongoing management of the company’s land portfolio throughout the planning process, ensuring land assets are effectively maintained and managed through to planning approval and eventual sale.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing the company’s land portfolio, liaising with landowners, agents and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate ground maintenance on non-tenanted land, including fencing, grass cutting and vegetation management, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Support the management of leases, licences and Farm Business Tenancies, including rent reviews and contractual obligations.
  • Undertake regular site visits (typically within a 1–1.5 hour radius) to monitor land, oversee contractor activity and ensure sites are secure and well maintained.
  • Document site conditions, produce reports and implement necessary actions.
  • Obtain and assess contractor quotes for land maintenance and improvement works.
  • Respond to public enquiries relating to land ownership, boundaries and general issues.
  • Coordinate access for external consultants such as ecologists, surveyors and arborists.
  • Provide regular updates and work closely with the Land Manager on ongoing projects.

The successful candidate will be a proactive and organised individual with strong communication skills and the ability to manage a varied workload. You will be confident liaising with a range of stakeholders including landowners, contractors and consultants, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team. A strong attention to detail, problem solving mindset and the ability to prioritise effectively are essential. You will be adaptable, quick to learn and comfortable working in a dynamic environment. A full UK driving licence is required.

Experience or knowledge of rural land management or agricultural practices would be advantageous but is not essential.

Offering a competitive salary up to £40,000 (negotiable depending on experience), along with a company car and mobile phone. Additional benefits include a pension and healthcare scheme, 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays with flexibility.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within land and estates management, joining a supportive and knowledgeable team in a well regarded business.
