Our client, a leading UK residential developer, is seeking an experienced Layout Designer to join their growing design team located in the West Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the production of high quality residential developments, supporting urban design, masterplanning and land acquisition activities across multiple regions. The successful candidate will work closely with the Design Manager and wider project teams to produce innovative, practical and commercially viable site layouts. Key Responsibilities
- Support urban design and masterplanning projects
- Prepare feasibility layouts for land acquisition opportunities
- Produce testing layouts, plans, drawings and supporting design documentation
- Research planning, urban design and technical matters relevant to development projects
- Create presentation materials, brochures and portfolios using design software
- Ensure layouts and documentation align with company design standards and brand requirements
- Collaborate with regional teams and support stakeholder engagement
- Assist in the preparation of design guidance documentation for use across the business
About You
To be considered for this position, you should possess:
- A degree in Architecture, Urban Design or a related discipline
- Experience using InDesign, Illustrator, AutoCAD, SketchUp or similar design software
- Strong urban design and layout design capabilities
- Excellent technical and problem-solving skills
- High-quality presentation and communication skills
- A proactive and organised approach to work
- The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- A full UK driving licence
