Are you passionate about plants and retail leadership? We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Hardy Plants Supervisor to support and drive our Hardy Plants Department at Percy Thrower's Garden Centre. This is a hands‑on and varied role within our plants department. You will play a key part in ensuring the Hardy Plants area is commercially successful, well‑stocked, beautifully presented, and that every customer receives knowledgeable and friendly service. You will also support the Department Manager in maintaining exceptional retail standards and maximising sales.
Responsibilities
- Ordering hardy plant stock and monitoring availability
- Reviewing sales and performance reports to identify opportunities for growth
- Managing merchandising plans and stock rotation strategies
- Identifying and taking action on slow‑moving stock
- Ensuring POS materials are accurate and displayed correctly
- Maintaining high retail and housekeeping standards across the plant area
- Creating visually appealing and inspirational plant displays to maximise sales
- Providing knowledgeable advice to customers and assisting with carry‑to‑car service
- Using the EPOS system confidently and accurately
- Following up on action points from reports and team floor walks
- Deputising for the Department Manager during holidays and days off
- Organising daily and weekly team tasks
- Communicating updates, instructions, and guidelines from the wider plant team
- Escalating any issues or concerns to senior management
