The Role
As a Goods In Assistant, you'll play a key role in ensuring deliveries are received, checked and processed efficiently, helping departments receive stock quickly so it reaches the shop floor without delay.
Working closely with the Goods In Manager and department teams, you'll help maintain an organised goods-in area while ensuring stock is handled accurately and safely.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, unload and check deliveries against delivery documentation.
- Assist with processing stock, transfers and supplier returns.
- Ensure stock is accurately recorded within company systems.
- Report any damaged or missing stock promptly.
- Help maintain a clean, safe and organised goods-in area and yard.
- Support the movement of stock from goods in to departments across the garden centre.
- Work closely with department teams to ensure deliveries are processed efficiently.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including safe manual handling practices.
About You
We're looking for someone who
- Is organised and has excellent attention to detail.
- Enjoys working in a busy, physical role.
- Works well both independently and as part of a team.
- Has a positive, proactive attitude.
- Can prioritise tasks and work efficiently under pressure.
- Has previous warehouse, goods in or retail stockroom experience (preferred but not essential).
- A Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
